We strictly prohibit retaliation, harassment, blacklisting, or discrimination against any porter, guide, field staff, or client who submits a complaint or feedback in good faith.

1. Purpose and Scope

Namla Expeditions is dedicated to delivering world-class expeditions while upholding ethical labor standards in the Karakoram. This policy provides a transparent, secure, and accessible grievance mechanism for clients, trekkers, climbers, high-altitude porters (HAPs), low-altitude porters, kitchen teams, and drivers.

Ethical Expedition Standards

Karakoram porters and high-altitude teams are the lifeblood of Himalayan & Karakoram exploration. Namla Expeditions enforces strict 25 kg load limits, high-altitude gear allowances, fair stage rates, and full insurance coverage.

  • Fair & Timely Remuneration: Wages must be paid in full according to agreed stage rates or daily contracts without unlawful deductions.
  • Weight Restrictions: Porters are not required to exceed government and agency weight limits (standard 25 kg threshold).
  • Proper Equipment & Shelter: Field teams are provided adequate shelter, food rations, and protective clothing suitable for high-altitude glacial environments.
  • Medical Emergency Care: Immediate evacuation and insurance assistance in the event of high-altitude sickness (HAMS/HAPE/HACE), frostbite, or trauma.

3. Client & Explorer Standards

Clients are entitled to professional guiding, rigorous safety protocols, clear communication of itinerary changes, and honest accountability. If service falls below standard, we investigate and offer remedies including refunds, apologies, or operational changes.

4. Investigation & Resolution Process

  1. Receipt & Acknowledgment: When received at support@namlaexpeditions.com, complaints are logged by reference code within 48 hours.
  2. Direct Investigation: Senior operations management reviews journey records, contracts, guide logs, and witness statements.
  3. Confidential Communication: We communicate only through your preferred safe contact channel.
  4. Resolution: A formal resolution and corrective action summary is provided within 7 to 14 business days.
